Haiti Earthquake


Experts now suggest that up to 200,000 people have been killed by the Haitian earthquake. The earthquake struck at 16.53 on Tuesday, 12th January. The earthquake measured 7.0, and the epicentre was 10miles (15 km) south-west of the capital city, Port-au-Prince. The main earthquake was followed by at least two strong aftershocks, all measuring over 5.0.


Some facts:

* over 300,000 left homeless,

* 1 in 10 homes destroyed in Port-au-Prince.
