How big is it really?


BBC dimensions is a website that takes large events such as environmental disasters, wars, space and depths and puts them in to context of their size and scope using mapping.
As you can see above, this is an attempt to place the extent of the area affected by a nuclear explosion in Ukraine (Chernobyl) over the US to give context to the huge area it spanned. Most of the USA would have been affected had the explosion occurred there!
